Less well understood is that what you eat can kill many others, too. This module explores the politics of food from the local grocery store to the international trade in grain, sugar, and cacao. Topics to be covered include food production safety, labelling, and nutrition; environmental concerns relating to energy consumption and waste disposal; the politics of fast food; organic farming and sustainable agriculture; genetically modified foods; the ethics of animal care; vegetarianism, and the politics of hunger and malnutrition.","ModuleCredit":"5","Workload":"0-3-0-2-7.5","Prerequisite":"Cohort 2011 and before: Completed 80 MCs, including 28 MCs in PS, with a minimum CAP of 3.50 or be on the Honours track.
