\r\n\r\n\tHow musical instruments produce sound. Musical instruments and harmonics. String, wind and percussion instruments. Analysis of musical sounds. History of the pianoforte. Working principles of the piano. Automatic pianos and player pianos.
\r\n\r\n\tElectronic musical instruments and synthesis. The MIDI system. Digitisation of musical sounds. CDs and MP3s.
