\r\n\tFor the practicals, two experiment packages (A and B) are available to all CM3291 students. You can vote for one of these packages in IVLE.
\r\n\r\n\tPackage A - maximum enrolment 48 students per day.
\r\n\tPackage B - maximum enrolment 10 students per day.
\r\n\tOnce selected, option is irrevocable. No change of package will be entertained. If you miss voting of the package, we will randomly assign it to you.
\r\n\r\n\tThe allocation of package to students will be finalized by the end of 1st lab session.

The safety information can be viewed at http://www.chemistry.nus.edu.sg/PSSO/index.htm, under the "Undergraduate Safety Information" section. In particular, students must read the Undergraduate Safety Note and Risk Assessment Note of the experiments you will do.
\r\n\t
\r\n\tAftering read the Undergraduate Safety Note.pdf, you must pass the online Undergraduate Safety Test (>= 70%, CA = 0%).

\r\n\t
\r\n\tPlease follow the following general guidelines:
\r\n\tExperiment 3 (2 sessions) Synthesis and Characterization of 4’-(4”’-Pyridyl)- 2,2’:6’,2’’-terpyridine and its Fe(II) complex
\r\n\t
\r\n\tExperiment 4 (2 sessions) Synthesis and Catalytic Study of Iron(III) meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato Chloride [Fe(TPP)Cl]
\r\n\t
\r\n\tExperiment 6 (1 session) Syntheses of Nickelocene
\r\n\t
\r\n\tExperiment 8 (1 session) Synthesis of a Ruthenium Alkylidene Complex: Making a Grubb's Type Catalyst
\r\n\t
\r\n\tExperiment 9 (2 sessions) Grignard Reaction + Kinetic Enzymatic Resolution (to be updated)
\r\n\t
\r\n\tExperiment 10 (2 sessions) Pd-Coupling Reaction (to be updated)
\r\n\t
\r\n\tExperiment 11 (1 session) Tandem Aldol Condensation and Diels-Alder Reaction (to be updated)
\r\n\t
\r\n\tFor request of make-up session, please firstly seek a permission with our Deputy lab director, Dr Zhang Sheng, at chmzs@nus.edu.sg or at his his office at S7-03-12 (Tel: 6516 7759).
\r\n\t
\r\n\tMake-up session is available only if medical certificate (M.C.), NS document or university-related activities with strong reason(s) can be provided.
\r\n\t
\r\n\tIn normal semesters (1 and 2), the proposed make-up session would be in either some scheduled lab sessions or others in the Week 12.
\r\n\t
\r\n\tIn addition, for the special semester (or semester 3 or 4), make-up sessions will be rather difficult to be arranged due to the compact schedule (two sessions per week for 6 weeks). Some special arrangement would be made accordingly.
\r\n\tAll students should finish all experiments designated by the chosen package and submit the lab report by the deadline.
