\r\n\t\t\t\tInternships vary in length but all take place within organisations or companies, are vetted and approved by the Communications and New Media Programme, have relevance to the major in NM, involve the application of subject knowledge and theory in reflection upon the work, and are assessed. Available credited internships for each semester will be advertised at the beginning of the semester before. Internships proposed by students will require the approval of the department. Student must apply for and be accepted to work in the company/organization offering the internship for a duration of 6 months (together with INM3550), on full time basis.

\r\n\r\n\tJournal (40%) will be kept by the student to document the work done using a format with headings that relate to description of duties and responsibilities. Work site supervisor will review and discuss the journal with the student and sign-off on it.
\r\n\r\n\tProject Report (50%) will be submitted by the student 2 weeks after completion of the internship. The final report, 3000-3500 words in 8 to 12 double-spaced pages, will include the following sections:
\r\n\r\n\t1. Application of theory – reflection of work experience using theoretical framework learned in modules taken and planned by the student
\r\n\r\n\t2. Teamwork – documented work experience of teamwork
