\r\n\tThe purpose of this module is to provide an educational and experiential framework for the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to function effectively in the critical care setting. A comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge base regarding the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and neurological problems in the critically ill patient are developed through the course of the module. Theoretical content focuses on data central to planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions given to the critically ill. Aspects of health promotion and maintenance appropriate to the said patients and their families will be emphasised.
