It includes five weekly meetings - analysis activities, theory activities, group activities, workstation activities, and skills. Each meeting will address and enhance a set of knowledge and skills relevant to your development as a musician. By the end of the module, you should have a basic but comprehensive set of theoretical knowledge and musical skills to apply to performance and composition.
\n
\nIn particular, this module is dedicated to further topics concerning harmony and analysis. Where MUT1121 covered diatonic harmony, this module addressed chromatic harmony and modulation as well as the approaches to motivic and formal elaboration that accompany them.

\nIn addition, there will be continuous assessment in class meetings. This will form 50% of assessment. Note that attendance at Group Activities will be considered CA. Also as part of CA, you will be responsible to pass 3 skills tests, demonstrating your command of essential musicianship skills. These test can be taken throughout the semester. You are required to score above an 80% on each. Tutorials with Dr. Makarome are to provide you an opportunity to develop these skills.
