\n\tAIM: Pharmacology is the study of mechanisms by which drugs act. This module aims to introduce you to the mechanisms of action of drugs commonly used for the treatment of human disease. Examples of drugs used to treat diseases and disorders of the nervous, cardiovascular and endocrine systems and chemotherapeutic agents (both anticancer and antimicrobial) will be discussed.
\n\n\tOBJECTIVES: By the end of the module a student will be able to discuss the mechanisms of action of examples of drugs commonly used to treat diseases and disorders of the nervous, cardiovascular and endocrine systems and chemotherapeutic agents (both anticancer and antimicrobial) . The student will be able to discuss how these drugs interact with the human body to produce both clinical effects and adverse side effects.
