\r\nCombined with the problem of soft clays, the seepage of water can cause serious loadings on such sites.
\r\nThis course is meant to provide students with the tools for understanding and assessing impact of GW conditions in various geotechnical situations.
\r\nThe course will cover basic seepage theory, and how it is applied to compute pore pressures for slope problems.
\r\nIt will follow with consolidation analysis, where the seepage part is analysed separate from the stress/deformation problem as in Terzaghi"s theory.
